Rio Da Yung OG is one of the most influential voices to emerge from the Flint, Michigan rap scene.
Known for his sharp wit, conversational delivery, and unfiltered storytelling, he helped define the modern Michigan rap sound alongside frequent collaborators like RMC Mike and Peezy.
His music blends gritty street narratives with dark humor, clever punchlines, and minimalist, piano-driven beats that have become a signature of the region’s hip-hop style.
Despite serving a federal prison sentence from 2021 until late 2024, Rio’s popularity continued to grow as fans embraced projects released during his incarceration.
Since his release, he has returned to touring and recording, building on the success of platinum-certified tracks like “Legendary” while collaborating with artists including Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, and Veeze.
