Live Music: Cory Cross

Originally from Fort Worth, Cory Cross has become a familiar face on the Austin country scene, regularly performing with his band, The Burden, at iconic venues such as the Continental Club and The White Horse.

His energetic live shows have also taken him across Texas and on tours through Nashville, Los Angeles, and New York.

Cross blends classic honky-tonk, traditional country, Americana, and rockabilly into a sound that’s both timeless and modern. Influenced by legendary songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, he pairs heartfelt storytelling with gritty guitars, fiddle, pedal steel, and an energetic rhythm section.

The result is a style that honors classic Texas dancehall country while adding a raw garage-rock edge.
