  1. Excellent experience. The kayaking was fun: we saw quite a few bats at the bridge. However, we enjoyed the kayaking, views of downtown Austin and the water even more.
The entire crew was excellent and patient, from check in, to explaining everything, providing water beforehand, the narration in the water, local restaurant tips, etc. We had a great time!

  2. Amazing experience! Beverly was the sweetest! So helpful and kind. This was my first time ever paddle boarding and the check in process was so easy. Such an enjoyable experience and the people who work here make it that much better. 10/10 will be back every time I’m in Austin!

  3. We saw their location by the trail. They said we need to walk up to the street to their office to pay and get the paddles. Anyways even though we would prefer to lay there and start the canoeing we walked up and registered, paid and come back. After that small situation canoeing part was so nice. It was a bit cloudy and windy Austin Saturday and we all get a bit wet of course but we loved the experience. People were so helpful and nice. Looked like they have locations all around the world?? Or we just thought so when we aa the world map on the wall 🙂

  4. Signed up for the bat tour and it did not disappoint!! John was a great guide and very approachable and friendly! Great storytelling throughout the tour with fun facts!

I’d highly recommend this if you want to be in awe of the 1.5 million bats that Austin’s known for! A good 3 hours out and back.

Be aware that there are large amounts of moss/seaweed/plantlife that can get stuck on your paddle but it is easy to remove if you dunk in the paddle and back out.

  5. Booked the Austin Bat watching Tour with my friend and we had an AMAZING TIME. As someone who never kayaked before Joseph the tour guide was really easy going and helpful to learn from. Loved how Joseph provided a relaxed atmosphere that gave our group room to learn and experiment with our kayaks while also giving stops with cool bat facts and Austin history.
Also if you’re visiting Austin and want to see the bats this route is the way to go. You not only get to see the bats from a unique location below the bridge but you also have beautiful sunset water views and an unforgettable Austin Skyline during the journey there and back, which I find the trip to be worth it.

  6. Really great experience ! The vibe of the whole place was welcoming and friendly. They have a whiteboard with a set of rules from 1-10 , 2 being saying hi to Oliver their dog ! The prices were very reasonable. You’re given a locker in the beginning to store everything so don’t worry about your belongings. The staff at the lake were very helpful in instructions on how to stay on and for directions. We had a lovely 4 mile round trip to downtown and back and spotted some beautiful scenery and the occasional dog learning to sit still on their owners’ boards! They watched out for our shoes for us near the dock and we were very satisfied with our experience! If I’m back in Austin, I’ll definitely go again!!

  7. This place was awesome for a Saturday morning kayak/paddle board sesh. Very easy check-in. Lockers are free to hold all your valuables. The prices were very fair as well. They also pro-rate after the first hour.

You check in, are given your paddle and walk down to the water. There, they help you get in your kayak or get on your paddle board. You can go west and have downtown in your view the whole time. This route is more crowded. You can east and this is a quieter more nature-y route. There are little coves to hang out in as well as a small island you can walk around on.

Either way you go, you will have a great time!

  8. Live Love Paddle was great. You don’t have to commit to a time frame. They give you a ticket, write your start time when you get in the water, your time ends when you get back to the dock, and they prorate to the closest 15 minute increment. They have lockers to put keys, wallets, phones in. You can also buy a water proof bag at the counter for your phone if you do if you don’t have one/want to take your phone on the water.

The store front is under apartments next to a bicycle shop. Then you walk down past the apartments to the water to get your kayak or SUP. the people that work here are chill, friendly, and their service is wonderful.

LOVE that Friday was still considered a weekday and it was $10 for a single kayak for the first hour. To me that’s a steal. Highly recommend Live Love Paddle.

  9. It dumped on us!!! I’m not talking about your pleasant morning stroll through the park walking your dog light rain, these were pellet hard bullets being swept through by 20 mph winds!

That being said, what an awesome experience! The level of customer service this place exhibits, every business owner should take note of. There’s no time pressure with their intelligently designed prorated prices. Convenient restroom + changing area with a Free locker included. Incredibly easy to access boat/paddle board hut located right along the lake.

Would highly recommend to any and all!
