  1. We did the 12:30 cruise & it was great! We did pre purchase tickets online but if for some reason you stumble upon the sightseeing cruise, they do offer will call the last 15 mins before they depart. Also check out Groupon before you purchase just in case and read the information email they send after purchase, it will really help when it comes to the parking. I would suggest arriving 30 mins before to account for parking & walking to the entry point.
I like that they allow you to bring your own snacks & drinks on board. They do have an option on lower deck to purchase water/soda, water was $3. I would recommend making those purchases as soon as you get on the boat, before he starts the animated tour.
We enjoyed the upper & lower deck but if you want to hear the narration clearly, the upper deck is better. The captain & tour guide did a great job. Tips not mandatory but are greatly appreciated.

  2. Had a great evening bat cruise on Lady Bird Lake to see the Mexican Free-tailed bats emerge from under the South Congress bridge and head out to eat insects all night. It’s an amazing experience and everyone should go once. It also provides a wonderful view of the Austin skyline from the lake. Beautiful.

  3. The views alone were worth the experience! We also saw soo many bats! It’s was an amazing experience! We had a female guide and she was super funny and great at educating us on the buildings and bats. It felt like such a small price for such a cool experience! I would absolutely do this again and recommend it for anyone. You can also bring your own food and snacks which was a plus!

  4. This was such a great experience! Seeing the bats was incredibly cool, and our boat guide was both super informative and genuinely friendly. I loved learning more about Austin, especially the architecture and how the city has developed over time. And of course—the bats were the highlight. So, so cool to see in person!

  5. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. There was plenty of space, even though all seats were filled. Amazing scenery as the sun set. It was extremely dark by the time the
Bats came out, so it was very very hard to see them. No fault at all by our tour operator. We still had a great time and enjoyed the tour and scenery. I definitely recommend this tour and would do it again!

  6. Took our granddaughter to watch the bats and had a wonderful time. Very organized and had a very friendly staff. Boat was clean and guide was entertaining. Well worth the price.

  9. We had a blast on the sunset bat tour. The bats had just returned to the bridge so the exit wasn’t quite as impressive as I’d hoped but the boat ride itself was plenty. The bats we did get to see were just icing on the cake. It’s fun to see downtown Austin from the water and at just $10 per person for the hour ride, narrated by your captain, it’s the best deal deal in town!
