Live Music, Private Parties, and Finger-Lickin’ Nights

Live music plays Thursday through Sunday with blues and bluegrass energy. Private group dining works for up to one hundred twenty-five guests complete with tunes. Catering brings the BBQ to weddings, reunions, or corporate events. The space turns any gathering into a celebration. It is the spot for nights that mix great food with live sounds.

They have the best service around! Owners are invested in the business and it shows! We had awesome smoked brisket with mac & cheese, potato salad, and jambalaya.

For dessert we had their peach cobbler and it was still warm from the oven.

I completely recommend The Green Mesquite for lunch, but dinner is equally rewarding! ❤️

Really enjoyed this place when we visited in January. The brisket was succulent, nicely fatty, and full of flavour. We also had some turkey, which was very tasty as well. The sides were excellent too – the mac and cheese was rich and very cheesy, the potato salad was savoury and really enjoyable, and the hush puppies were very tasty as well. We also finished with the pecan pie, which was fantastic – my wife loved it so much that she’s now basically addicted to pecan pie, and we haven’t been able to find one here as good as the one we had there. The owner was also very friendly and welcoming. He heard our accents and stopped to ask where we were from, and we had a really nice chat about New Zealand and diving. He was also very kind to our four-year-old, which helped make the experience especially memorable on his first trip to the U.S. Great food and great service – we’d happily visit again.

True Austin vibe and good times thanks to Rick and his crew. Loved their wings, chicken and pork ribs. Also, that smoked, spicy sauce was sublime.

Save yourself time waiting in the long lines at other joints and eat here. Say hi to Rick and enjoy some of Austin’s best BBQ.

I’ve tried Franklin’s, Interstellar, Rudy’s, Terry Black’s, Coopers, Lamberts and many others. Green Mesquite stands out in this crowd.

The restaurant owner is super friendly and the food is delicious.
I love the roasted ribs which are perfectly cooked with tender meat and great flavor. My husband ordered 2meat combos. Wings and brisket both were good too. Will definitely come back to try other stuff.
