The Super Swing Revue
The Super Swing Revue is one of Austin’s most enduring Western swing bands, founded in 1982 by legendary steel guitarist and bandleader Al Dressen.
For decades, the group has carried on the rich tradition of Texas dancehall music, performing the timeless sounds of western swing made famous by icons like Bob Wills, Milton Brown, and Spade Cooley,
The band first established itself with a long-running residency at Austin’s famed Broken Spoke and has remained a cornerstone of the city’s traditional country and swing scene ever since.
Al Dressen is widely regarded as one of Texas’ premier pedal steel guitarists and has spent his career preserving and promoting Western swing. Beyond leading the Super Swing Revue, he helped organize the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame and has shared the stage with hundreds of musicians over the decades.
